Race Info
The Race Date: September 13, 2008 Teams: 3-person coed, (Premier and Masters divisions) Solo: 1-person with approval of resume only Teams There are two divisions: three-person Coed Premier and Masters. The 3-person teams must have at least one female. To qualify for the Masters division every member of the team must be at least 40 years old. The field will be limited to 60 teams. There are no age limits for team members in the premier division. Each team must provide a support crew for the race. Solo There is one solo division. Solo racers must submit a resume to the Raid the Rock race directors (hyperlink to team traveler address, TeamTraveler@Comcast.net) before registering. The field will be limited to 20 racers. Racer must be at least sixteen (16) years of age to participate. The same rules apply to solo racers as team racers. Each solo racer must provide a support person for the race. Registration Information Registration and required skills/equipment tests well be held at a location and time to be announced the week of the race, in or near Little Rock, Arkansas. Registration is from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on September 26th. Teams will be required to demonstrate adequate rope and navigational skills and have all mandatory gear present for inspection. All team members and at least one support crew member must be present at the check in. Teams will get the appropriate amount of race course details at the pre-race meeting. The exact location and time will be announced in the Team Captains Letter emailed out approximately 1-week before the event. The exact start time will also be announced at the pre-race meeting. Support crews will get their instructions at the pre-race meeting and/or as determined by the race organization. The pre-race meeting starts at 7:00 pm on September 12th. The after party and awards ceremony will be held at a location and
time to be announced the week of the race. The post race activities
will start around 6:00 – 7:00 pm on September 13th. Additional
meal tickets can be purchased for $10 each during registration.
Contact Information Contact Number: 501-529-3052 Pre-Race Skills Testing At least one person on the team should be able to easily orient a map using a compass, identify basic map features, determine bearing given a direction of travel, plot UTM grid coordinates, and follow instructions. Teams will be required to demonstrate basic rope skills for rappelling and traversing a safety line. Teams will be required to read and sign that they have read and understand all the race rules.
